Regulation of participation for members of UZH

 

The courses of the IT Training and Continuing Education are available to all members of UZH free of charge.

Please take notice of the most frequently asked questions about the course registration!

 

How can I book a course? (UZH members)

 

1) You can see the current course offer at https://app.connect.uzh.ch/apps/id/kurse.nsf/veranstaltungen.xsp and choose the desired course by clicking on the course title.

2) At the bottom of the page click on "Anmeldung (mit UZH Mail Login)" to book the course. You need the UZH e-mail / collaboration account (account for your UZH e-mail) to login. All courses have to be booked individually. Multiple courses can be booked in the same semester. If a course is already fully booked, you can register for the waitinglist “Warteliste”. As soon as a seat becomes vacant, you are will be notified and provisionally enrolled as a participant.

3) Fill out the relevant fields, in particular the faculty “Fakultät” and the study level “Studienlevel”, and conclude the process by clicking on the "Anmelden" button. If you are not able to attend the course, ensure that you cancel in time.

How can I cancel a course? (UZH members)

 

You can cancel courses only online via the participants' homepage.

 

1) For this purpose, go to http://tiny.uzh.ch/cq and log in with your UZH short name and password. Please contact the IT Service Desk if you have login problems.

2) On the participant's homepage, select the course you want to cancel under the „Aktuelle Teilnahmen“ tab. All booked courses are listed below under “Meine aktuellen Teilnahmen” (My current participations). Please click on "abmelden" (cancel).

3) Confirm the cancelation in the dialog box with "OK". You are now successfully unsubscribed from the course.

The cancellation of courses is possible up to 24 hours before the start of the course and has to take place within this period.

 

Persons who have booked  a course with IT Training and  Continuing Education and who are absent without a cancellation at the start of the course are considered absent without valid excuse.
 

Unexcused absent persons will be blocked and automatically unsubscribed by the course secretariat for the relevant course and for all further courses, including already booked courses.

The blocking applies to all courses of IT Training and Continuing Education.

The blocking is cancelled for a fee of CHF 50.--. After paying the fee in the IT Service Desk, the person concerned can again attend all courses of IT Training and Continuing Education.

 

How can I unsubscribe from the waitinglist? (UZH members)

 

The cancellation is made exclusively online via the participants' homepage.

 

1) For this purpose, go to http://tiny.uzh.ch/cq and log in with your UZH short name and password. Please contact the  IT Service Desk if you have login problems.

2) On the participant's homepage, select the course from which you want to unsubscribe from under the tab "Aktuelle Teilnahmen". Click "Details anzeigen" on the relevant course.

3) In the detailed view of the course, you will see the "Abmelden" button at the bottom. Click on the button to unsubscribe.

Regulation of participation for external persons

 

Under certain conditions, UZH-external persons can also attend individual courses.

Please take notice of the most frequently asked questions about the course registration!

 

How can I book a course? (external persons)

 

Our course offer is addressed to members of the UZH. The attendance of individual events by external persons is however possible by arrangement.

1) USZ staff members who have not received a UZH Lotus account (e-mail and collaboration) as part of their employment at the USZ, please contact your IT department for the possibility of a manual UZH Lotus account. The booking of courses is then carried out as for members of the UZH.

2) For all other UZH external persons:

3a) Click on "Anmeldung (ohne UZH Mail Login)"

This field is only open for a few courses. (Currently only e-learning)


3b) If this button is not available for the selected course, please contact the course secretary with the following information one week before the beginning of the course via e-mail (kurssekretariat@id.uzh.ch).
 

 

  • Full name
  • Name of the educational institution
  • E-mail address of the educational institution from which the application for registration must be submitted.
  • Names of the course, including abbreviations, which you want to attend (in case of doubt with the dates of the course or the URL of the course)
  • Motivation for application to this course.



The registration of UZH-external persons has to be done by mail to the course secretariat one week before the start of the course.

There is generally no claim to entry on the waitinglist.

Please note that the registration request for UZH-external persons can be rejected without further reasons.

Registrations for UZH external persons can only be processed if they take place one week ahead of the course and if there are still vacant seats.

Please unsubscribe from the waitinglist via e-mail (kurssekretariat@id.uzh.ch) with the following information:

 

  • Full name

What do the courses cost?

 

1) Courses in IT Training and Continuing Education are offered free of charge as part of studies, teaching activities or employment at the UZH.

2) If external persons are admitted to a course, this course is also free of charge.

How do I get a confirmation of participation in a course?

 

1) One-day courses or courses, which only take place on a morning or afternoon (duration of two to three hours), must be fully attended.

2) The attendance of the first course unit is obligatory for courses lasting several days.

3) The course is successfully completed when 80% of the course hours have been attended. In this case, a confirmation of participation in the course, including the achievement of the learning objectives achieved, will be handed out at the last course unit.
