The courses of IT Training and Continuing Education are aimed at providing the students and staff of the UZH with the necessary interdisciplinary competences in the IT area for their work and studies.
Both the academic and the professional environment at UZH require the use of various IT skills. In the teaching of these skills, we focus on helping people to help themselves. It is not just a matter of passing on information, but of enabling people to generate the knowledge they need themselves.
Based on andragogical principles, the following points are at the centre of learning in our courses:
- Whenever possible, learning is autonomous and self-directed
- The experience of the learner is an important resource that the teacher takes into account
- The courses are tailored to the needs of the learners and help to solve real problems
- Lessons are problem-oriented and immediately useful
