2017-09-01: ScienceCloud, Hydra and Vesta outage

Dear users,

Due to cooling problems in the data center, we are forced to make a complete shut down of the whole Science Cloud, Vesta and Hydra infrastructure. What this means for you:

  • any server ("instance") running on Science Cloud will be powered off: you will not be able to access any VM until further notice.
  • data stored on volumes is safe, but you will not be able to read or write it until we can power on Science Cloud servers again.
  • the web interface and network API of Science Cloud will be inaccessible; any attempt to connect to it will time out.

The electricians are working to identify and fix the problem, but for the moment the Science Cloud, Hydra and Vesta systems must remain off except for a few critical systems.

The earliest service could be restored is Monday 04.09 or Tuesday 05.09, and this depends on the electrical problem being identified and fixed.
